I am out here in Marseille, (I know I volunteered to take one for the team) combining my passions for rugby, French cuisine and wine and great weather. Well done England, may I add, making the trip worthwhile – and Scotland, yet again, the plucky losers.

Marseille is a multicultural melting pot of cultures and creeds, in a setting that combines faded grandeur and brutal modern architecture. Yet it works – what a great vibrant city.

How much like our careers – you hope for ideal but it rarely is, so success and enjoyment is underpinned by your capacity to adapt and embrace the positives and work around the negatives to arrive in a place that allows for your development.
