Entering April I am normally expecting to be greeted by April showers – no as we have entered the fourth month of 2018, and somehow, as mad as it seems, it has still been snowing. Pretty though it may be, there is no doubt that the magic has definitely worn off, with snow days becoming more of a hindrance than a treat. And as much as we would like to turn down that heating and lower that bill, there is no chance, unless we want to freeze. What seems most cruel is the way in which the weather keeps teasing us, with days of sunshine and double-digit temperatures, and just as we think it’s time to finally put away those winter woollies, it hits us again with a huge icy fist in the face. The uncertainty of it all is maddening when it comes to planning whatever sector you happen to be in health services, transport, education or business.
In a similar vein GDPR is imminently upon us and as with your business, we at ABPM have been working towards being compliant. Its impact is clear only in that it is uncertain to all of our business activities and to cap it all we do not attain a standard to acknowledge its attainment. That would be far too simple as it is an EU directive after all. Tongue in cheek as I may appear to be to lighten the spirit of those of you weighed down with GDPR compliance, be assured ABPM will always respect how you want us to use your details. As the data regulations are changing on 25th May 2018, our commitment to protecting your details will never change. Further information will follow and be evident on our website and communications.

My advice for this month is to not let the snow or GDPR slow you down. If it’s not the snow that’s stopping you, then drop that weight as well.
