ABPM is supporting a fast-paced retail business to recruit a hands-on and commercially minded hybrid knowledge set Accountant. This is an exciting, senior opportunity to take ownership of the accounting, tax, compliance and financial management of a private family’s wealth and investment affairs. Working closely with senior leadership, you will focus on personal taxation, family investment companies, pensions, property, and international assets – offering real autonomy, variety, and influence in a trusted, high-profile advisory role.

In summary, what you will be doing is…

• Manage the family’s UK and international personal tax affairs, ensuring full compliance.
• Oversee accounts, tax returns, and compliance for investment, property, and rental entities.
• Coordinate external advisers, including accountants, tax specialists, and auditors, ensuring value for money and timely delivery.
• Monitor pension and investment portfolios, assessing performance, costs, and return-enhancement opportunities.
• Oversee the property portfolio, managing performance, compliance, costs, and income optimisation.
• Support inheritance tax, succession, and wealth planning activities, including the assessment of new investment opportunities.
• Confidently manage and challenge external advisers when appropriate.
• Highly organised, with strong financial analysis and investment appraisal capabilities.

Who will you be…

• ACA, ACCA, CTA qualified (or equivalent experience).
• Background in private client, family office, HNW, or owner-managed business environments.
• Strong UK tax and accounting knowledge across personal, corporate, and property matters.
• Knowledge of international and cross-border taxation is desirable.
