ABPM as experts in recruitment are retained to undertake the search for a CFO to support the ambitious growth plans of a substantial, successful and market leading private group. The organisation is diverse and has number of interconnected businesses enabling a high quality delivery in everything they do across manufacturing, civils and support services. The CEO is looking to appoint a new CFO to take the baton on from the current incumbent. The objective being to bring to the business an appropriate range attributes and skills to build on the established platform already in place. The business is action orientated, customer focused, and the leadership team are determined to continue building a world class business.

This is key appointment of two main parts. In broad terms the first requires the CFO to adopt a significant role in the leadership team working closely with the CEO, the Divisional Managing Directors and Heads of department to lead strategic and tactical matters relating to business growth, budgets, forecasting and funding opportunities. Secondly, own the responsibility for the financial and risk management of the business. This includes all the key aspects for accounting, financial & cash management, compliance, tax and strategic planning via the hands-on leadership of the Finance, Legal and Procurement departments.

The CFO sought will be a qualified accountant who generates ‘confidence and competence’ and possesses the proven ability to lead the Finance, Procurement & Legal departments of a substantial vertically integrated enterprise. It is likely you will have operated in a complex multi-site manufacturing and project management environment that is agile and swift to adapt to market conditions and opportunities. Cultural fit is critical as is the intellectual curiosity to dig deep and develop the understanding of the business and its “pulse”.
