JCB is one of the world’s top three manufacturers of construction equipment, employing around 14,000 people on four continents and selling their products in 150 countries through 2,000 dealer depot locations. One of their machines can be found in every corner of the world.

Throughout their history they have always invested heavily in research and development, keeping JCB at the cutting edge of innovation. Today, JCB has some of the finest engineering facilities across the globe, producing a range of over 300 machines and maintaining a reputation for unrivalled customer service. JCB, truly a world-class and still family-owned company.

Following a strategic review, and with the impending departure of the incumbent (who had a successful tenure in repositioning the function), an outstanding new CIO is sought to pick up the baton. Reporting to the CFO, you will play a key role in leading and shaping this global function.

This is the senior IT leadership role for JCB, with complete ownership of the Group IT strategy and its alignment with the objectives and results of JCB. The main purpose of the role is to contribute to JCB’s overall business planning, setting corporate policies, improving business processes, and identifying operational and commercial opportunities to use technology to drive profitable revenue growth.

This is a Senior Management Team role, so gravitas, passion and the ability to drive a high-profile and complex agenda are essential. To succeed in the role you will need to have the vision and charisma to lead and inspire multi-disciplinary and geographically diverse teams. You will need broad commercial understanding and the intellectual capability to develop ideas and translate them into workable objectives and plans. You will communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and be able to explain complex matters to diverse audiences with ease.

You will need to possess extensive experience leading a multi-disciplined technology team, across multiple geographies and, vitally, we require you to have delivered at least two large-scale ERP projects across business divisions (ideally SAP), and to have a deep insight into how technology and digital transformation affect the manufacturing industry and customer relationships.

You will have a confident and positive personality, and you will excel at building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external partners. You must be willing to be geographically mobile as the role will involve extensive worldwide travel, particularly to India and the USA.

Please note that applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
