£65,000 to £75,000 plus Benefits
Leicester (On-site min 4 days per week)
ABPM have been retained by a market disruptor and innovator, which is changing the face of e-commerce distribution, partnering with international healthcare brands to optimise their presence and performance. Operating from their HQ in Leicester, they have sites and warehouses in the UK, Far East, North America and Eastern Europe with brand partners. The business has grown 40-50% year on year and continues to scale at pace.
Reporting to the Managing Director & part-time CFO, as the Head of Finance, you’ll own the end-to-end financial function, ensuring everything they do is robust, compliant and genuinely useful to the business. From statutory accounts, audit, tax and VAT through to day-to-day financial operations, you’ll turn complex requirements into clear processes, high standards and a finance function that runs smoothly.
Working closely with the leadership team, you’ll lead, guide and develop Finance and associated teams – staying close to the detail while building capability, confidence and consistency across the group.
You’ll ensure our management accounts are delivered in a controlled, reliable way, but more importantly, that they drive insight and better decision-making. From short-term forecasting through to long-term planning and strategy – making finance feel like a true partner to the wider team. The group is growing fast, which means things move quickly. Roles will evolve over time, and while the key responsibilities are outlined, there may be changes as they grow. They are looking for someone who’s up for that kind of pace and flexibility – someone who’s keen to roll up their sleeves and grow with them.
WHAT THEY’RE LOOKING FOR:
Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA). Drawn from wholesale, e-commerce, or distribution environments is a big plus. Possessing financial modelling skills in a multicurrency experience is key, as is being highly proficient in Microsoft Excel & Xero and experience with ERP platforms is an advantage. Your technical knowledge is a given to the level that it must be an in-depth understanding of accounting standards, financial regulations, and compliance requirements. Given the reporting requirements, you must have a strong ‘management accounting/control’ background.
All this is to be underpinned by excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders, and you will have been a participant on or supporting a board/executive team. As such, an emerging finance leader aspiring, through hard work and talent, to become a member of the board in the future is the ideal profile sought..
